GROW aims to support adults with learning disabilities and difficulties develop self-confidence and life skills; enabling them to be included and valued within a workplace and the wider community by providing occupational training and mentoring in a safe and stimulating environment.
A major redevelopment of the vinery site Grow has occupied for 40 years, has secured its future for the next 40 years and beyond. Crew members (as our attendees are known) receive training and mentoring across various skill sectors. Horticulture remains key, alongside woodworking in the workshop and artistic skills in the creative area. Hospitality training is provided in the café, while the ‘Crafty Frog’ retail space provides experience in customer service, stock management, and marketing. Annual operating costs exceed £750,000, with one-third funded by the States of Guernsey. Additional income comes from plant sales, produce, maintenance contracts, the training café, and the ‘Crafty Frog’ selling Crew-made products. However, this is insufficient to meet service demands. Gifts, donations, and bequests from generous supporters like you are vital to sustain our operations.
